Built By An Artist, For Artists.
A management company founded by a multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter and producer — for artists who need someone who has actually stood where they're standing.
The Founder
Founder & Manager
Michael Rodgers is a multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter and producer. Rodgers Talent Group runs on that same experience — a company built by an artist, for artists.
The son of Jimmie Rodgers — a multiple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter whose 49 Top 20 singles, including "Honeycomb," "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine," and "Oh Oh I'm Falling In Love Again," plus standards like "It's Over," sold over 150 million records worldwide — Michael was raised around the finest singers and songwriters in the business, sharpening his musical ear and his instincts early. He got his start as a nightclub DJ in the top clubs of Los Angeles, remixing some of the biggest hits of the 1980s for radio and clubs worldwide.
From there he moved into radio promotions at Warner/Elektra/Asylum, recording his own demos on the side. He stamped the tapes "Requested Material," delivered them himself dressed as a courier, and was discovered by the President of Atlantic Records — landing his own deal. One of those demos, "I Like It Like That," made the Coming to America soundtrack, reaching Top 10 on the Billboard R&B and dance charts as the album sold over a million copies. He then signed with Sony/CBS, where his debut album, I Got Love, delivered three Top 10 singles across the US and Europe.
His songwriting and production credits run just as deep: sixteen co-written songs with jazz icon Al Jarreau, whose career he guided at the management level, plus cuts recorded by Natalie Cole and Luther Vandross. His vocal contribution to Neil Young's Living with War — which earned three Grammy nominations — brought him personal Grammy recognition, and he's shared the stage with Stephen Stills, Willie Nelson, Delbert McClinton, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Leroy Parnell, Ringo Starr, and numerous others. At Radio City Music Hall, he produced a musical feature for HBO's Comic Relief built around his own song "Mr. President" — anchored by a historic, one-time-only pairing of Al Jarreau and Natalie Cole on stage together.
He's lived every side of this business — as a DJ, a recording artist, a songwriter, and a producer — and now brings that hard-won perspective to every artist he represents.
The Approach
Long-range, not reactive
Visibility plans built for artists returning to the public eye or breaking into it for the first time — timed to a body of work, not a single release.
Protecting what's owned
Identifying, recovering, and safeguarding the masters and publishing behind an artist's work — the assets a career and artistic legacy are built on.
Real introductions
Press kits, radio and podcast outreach, and direct relationships with labels, publishers, and distributors — not a database of cold contacts.

Allyson Taylor is a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and producer. As a composer, she penned "Stay," recorded twice by Alison Krauss — on the platinum album Forget About It (Grammy-nominated for Best Country Album) and the multi-platinum Live/DVD (Grammy winner for Best Bluegrass Album). A former Motown and Decca Records artist, she signed as a writer to Major Bob Music and to Will N' David, the publishing partnership of Will Jennings and David Briggs.
Onstage and on record, Taylor is a force — she creates music that reaches deeply into the listener. She's performed alongside The Wooten Brothers, David Pack, and Mindi Abair, and was featured on Victor Wooten's Grammy-nominated Yin and Yang on the track "One." Billboard has described her as exuding "star quality from every pore."
She's currently in production on a new project, I've Got News, backed by a stellar lineup of world-class musicians including multiple Grammy winners Victor Wooten and David Pack (Ambrosia) — represented worldwide by Rodgers Talent Group.

"Straight-ahead jazz. World-class musicians. A live sound built for the room."
Jim Donica is a bassist, composer, arranger, and bandleader known for his lyrical playing, swinging feel, and thoughtful musical leadership. As a sideman, he's recorded and performed with trumpeter Maynard Ferguson, saxophonist George Garzone, guitarist David Becker, and drummer Peter Erskine, and spent twenty years touring internationally with legendary performer Chita Rivera.
His new live album, Together Again, recorded at Maureen's Jazz Cellar, captures a quintet built from serious pedigree — saxophonist Tim Armacost, pianist Alan Farnham, guitarist Jeff Barone, and drummer Tim Horner — veterans of New York's biggest rooms, from the Village Vanguard and Birdland to the Blue Note and Lincoln Center. Straight-ahead jazz tradition, played with inventive improvisation and real ensemble chemistry.
The album is now under Grammy consideration and charting on major jazz radio charts, including JazzWeek, with extensive airplay across the U.S. and Europe — among them Mary Foster Conklin's A Broad Spectrum, which featured the quintet's rendition of "Both Sides Now."
"Jim is a major talent with great technical skills, big ears, impeccable time and taste, boundless energy and a vivid imagination."
